Charlene's Thoughts

To Fellow Fans of The Young and the Restless:

From the moment we found out that we were the winning couple on June 1st it has been a whirlwind. With Greg, Lindsay, and Danielle as my direct contacts through all of the planning, everything was done with such ease and professionalism. It was all surreal to me at first. Emails back and forth with questions I had, but their quick responses made me feel like I was right there helping them plan. Every contact person involved was marvelous. From Yvonne & Nadine at David's Bridal and Tim at the Men’s Warehouse; everyone made sure we were treated like Dream Wedding winners. I spent almost five hours in David’s Bridal with the most fantastic staff. The gown I decided on was a brand new style, just taken out of the box as if it were reserved just for me. With just a few alterations, the dress was perfect!

When we arrived at The Signature at MGM Grand we were greeted by the Concierge and cameras. I was so nervous, excited, and surprised by the amount of attention we received. The one bedroom suite was unbelievable! We wanted for nothing. The Signature sent a series of unexpected surprises of Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our suite (thank you, Tipi). One night they even surprised us with pink rose petals sprinkled on the bed and in the Jacuzzi! The whole time I’m thinking, this has got to be dream!

Tracey Bregman (Lauren) and Christian LeBlanc (Michael) were everything I imagined they would be and more. When I saw Christian in the lobby, I had to purposely calm myself so I would not hyperventilate. I was already in love with the character Michael Baldwin and I quickly fell in love with Christian LeBlanc. This guy has a huge friendly personality and he embraced us like we were longtime friends of his.

Tracey arrived shortly after Christian and wow, she was awesome too. Will and I didn't have any preconceived ideas about them; we just hoped they would be down-to-earth and approachable and they were just that. We laughed, talked, hugged and twittered. We were blessed to have them as witnesses to our union and they even stayed for the reception! We had a really good time. In fact, Daniel Goddard (Cane) also called to congratulate us. That was another wonderful unexpected surprise.

With Christian, Tracey, our family, and friends in Las Vegas to celebrate with us, we finally decided to settle in and enjoy this wonderful blessing. We toured as many attractions as we possibly could including The Bellagio’s famous water show and chocolate tower, MGM Grand’s awesome lion exhibit, the Mirage’s simulated volcano eruption, and much more. The O Cirque du Soleil show at the Bellagio was incredible! Dinner at Joël Robuchon’s was really a special treat. What a fabulous place for a wedding! The energy of Las Vegas was the perfect compliment and backdrop to match our uncontained excitement. Every minute of every hour of every day that we were in Las Vegas was nothing short of a dream that I could have lived forever.

Shiloh, the wedding planner at MGM Grand Chapel, organized our wedding rehearsal which flowed with perfect precision. The day before the wedding, Will and I enjoyed a three hour private spa treatment. My hair and makeup were done by the incredible staff at the Cristophe Salon.

We were married Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 11am sharp. We know the heavens must have opened and God smiled down on us as we were pronounced husband and wife. The wedding day was full of laughs, happy tears, beautiful sunflowers (how appropriate), inspirational music (thanks to “O”) heartfelt words from our family, invited guests, and honorary family (Christian and Tracey). What an amazing feeling to receive such love from people we’ve just met. Oh, the cake! The cake was a work of art and it tasted as delicious as it looked!

It is difficult to adequately express our sincere heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in helping make all our wedding dreams come true, so we will simply say, thank you. These four unbelievable days of wonderful are a reflection of our love for one another, faith in God, and many answered prayers. We are off to a wonderful start!

Sincerely,
Mr. & Mrs. Willie Williams
