The mysterious and handsome Australian bartender, Cane, arrived in Genoa City looking for his birth mother. The scheming Amber Moore quickly zeroed in on the Aussie hunk and, with a little research, found out he just may be linked to the extremely wealthy Chancellor family. Amber agreed to "help" him with immigration by marrying him in Las Vegas but when he got cold feet. She slipped him a mickey, disguised her friend Ali as a man and had a quicky wedding. Cane woke up with a hangover and a wedding ring on his finger. Back in Genoa City, Cane finds out that he is Jill's son and begins to integrate himself within the Chancellor family. Tackling the job of managing the Clear Springs site, Cane has stepped into the family quite quickly but things aren't very rosy at home. Cane finds out that his wedding to Amber was a sham. Soon, Cane has dumped Amber for all her lies and has begun to explore greener pastures in Genoa City, namely the recently separated Lily Winters and fresh face Heather Stevens. It was Lily who won his heart! That is until Chloe Mitchell blew into town. Chloe had her sight set on Cane immediately. Chloe even convinced everyone that she was pregnant with his child after a drunken encounter. Soon it was revealed that Chloe was really Kate Valentine, Esther's daughter much to Jill's dismay.
When Billy Abbott returned to the family fold, Cane was anxious to bond with his half-brother but it was soon apparent that Billy had his own agenda. The brothers soon began competing for everything from the board room to the bedroom as Billy began flirting with Lily. Billy also had a secret relationship with Chloe before she came to town and turns out to be the true father to Chloe's baby but Cane doesn't know it. Just how this all plays out still remains to be seen...
