P.S. ARTS Express Yourself 2009
On Sunday, November 15, Maria and Bill Bell teamed up with Target and hosted P.S. ARTS Express Yourself 2009, a fundraiser to restore arts programs to public schools, held in the Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles, California, from 11am to 3pm. The Young and the Restless cast members and a host of other celebs brought their families and enjoyed a fun-filled day packed with tasty treats from dozens of Los Angeles' best restaurants and caterers, row after row of amazing art booths and shopped for exclusive merchandise at the P.S. ARTS store. 100% of the proceeds will go straight to P.S. ARTS programs.
About P.S. Arts:
P.S. ARTS is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to restoring arts education to public schools. P.S. ARTS currently employs 27 Professional Teaching Artists and works with each school to design a program that best fits the needs of the community. Whether it's visual arts, music, theater arts or dance, the instruction is created by our Teaching Artists and aligned with the state standards in the visual and performing arts.
P.S. ARTS, which was originally founded as an outreach project of the Crossroads Community Foundation in 1991, provides nearly 12,000 children with an arts education during their regular school day. P.S. ARTS programs are in 24 schools within four schools districts throughout Southern and Central California. P.S. ARTS believes that all children should receive an arts education and begins by serving those students most in need, students attending Title I public schools.
P.S. ARTS also offers arts-related workshops for classroom teachers, integrating creative expression and the arts into the core curriculum. Recognized by local, state and national agencies as an outstanding arts provider, P.S. ARTS now serves as a national model, advocating for the arts for all students.
